Tool Box

Having a good tool box is part of being a prepared sailor. Over the years this is the stuff that I have found is useful to have in your toolbox / parts bag. A small duffle bag or tote is the perfect size for traveling.

Tools:

  • ­  Multi­Tool like a leatherman
  • ­  Phillips screw driver
  • ­  Tape (sail/electrical/duct)
  • ­  McClube Hullkote
  • ­  McClube Spray
  • ­  Sandpaper (wet/dry 500+ grit)
  • ­  Rags/Shammie/Sponge
  • ­  Tape Measure
  • ­  Lighter
  • ­  small flat file to fix cleats 

    Parts (in Addition to what is used in your boat on a regular basis):

  • ­  Sail Ties: Mini Spools of Black/Gold Vectran, 3mm and 1.2mm
  • ­  Mast Collar: All boats should have grey one that has part for boat and mast. They shouldbe replaced when worn or cracked. Likely once every 6 months but should be checked

    regularly.

  • ­  Vang Lower Section: FSE Dinghy Star 5mm, 3 Ft
  • ­  Sprit Lower Section: Marlow Excel Control 5mm, 4 Ft

  • ­  Bridle ( Spectra ) with ring for clipping mainsheet
